We know that the safety of our products is a concern to you.  Recent regulations require much stricter safety testing, particularly for children’s toys.  Here you will find information relating to the safety, testing, a regulatory compliance of our products.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a press release granting a one-year stay for manufacturer toy testing.  Read it here.

The one-year stay does help, but many fear that the new federal regulations could possibly harm our local craftsmen and women and their small businesses. Visit www.handmadetoyalliance.org for more information. Full coverage of this issue is available at cpsia-central.ning.com

Here at the Steiner Storehouse, we have had several of our suppliers send us their certificates of compliance, Sarah’s Silks and Harrisville Designs, both US companies. Of course, many of you know Plan Toys safety record–we call them among the safest toys on the planet. As far as creams for babies, we carry Weleda, a Germany company, and their products are regulated through the US FDA. They are in total compliance with the FDA.

See the Toy Industry Association for more information on toy safety.
